Dr. ElSayed ElBastamy is Associate professor inenvironmental chemistry. Currently, he is a deputy director of the technical office in the Central Laboratory forEnvironmental Quality Monitoring (CLEQM) national Water Research Center (NWRC), Egypt. Since 2003, he worked in CLEQM as a researcher in Inorganic Chemistry Department and Aquatic Environmental Research Unit, and then he moved to work as a chemist in consulting and information unit for water and agriculture in the South Valley (CIU) at The Water Studies and Research Complex Toshka – Abu simbel City between the period of 2004 - 2009. He shared in 2004 the inorganic department, to hold an accreditation from the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation ((CALA according to ISO/IEC 17025. Since 2003 till now him experiences focused on the application of analytical chemistry in monitoring, analyzing and treatments of environmental pollution sources. He participates in several projects on national (eg. MWRI, STDF, etc.) and international scale (JICA etc.). He received award titled The Prof. Dr. Mohamed Facyle Award (Michigan University, USA) for the best researches in the field of Monitoring Protecting the Aquatic Environment from Pollution at 2011.
